LUSAKA
DAY 1
Arrive
in Lusaka and transfer to Lilayi Lodge (Lilayi Lodge is
situated on the out skirts of Lusaka on a 7000 hectare
private game reserve) activities include game drives,
leisure stroll or relaxing by the pool side
KAPISHYA HOT SPRINGS
DAY 2
Road
transfer from Lusaka to Shiwa Ngandu for 2 nights stay at
The Kapishya Hot Springs Lodge a treat your self to views of
the flowing river and a dip in some of the world’s finest
natural hot springs. Accommodation is on full board basis.
DAY
3
A full
day spent on the estate, indulging in any of the following
activities; A visit to 42 roomed mansion built by Sir Gore
Brown in 1925. The house has an incredible history with
original furniture and art facts. Next we climb the bare
back rock hill, a famous hill from where Dr Livingstone took
his bearings and from the top you will see Lake Shiwa. It is
in Lake Shiwa where Dr Livingstone lost his dog. We end this
day with a float down stream to Kapishya Hot Spring

MBATI
VILLAGE
DAY 4
Early
morning start from Kapishya to Manshya Falls for breakfast
before transferring to the village of Mbati. On arrival in
the village we visit the local people, tour the local school
and the clinic. Set up camp and enjoy the evenings and the
real adventure begins with full board in a camping set up.
SAMATA
AND KABINGA VILLAGES
DAY
5
We
travel in dug out canoes on the Chambeshi River from Mbati
to Samata village a journey taking approximately 5 to 6
hours, En route just relax or try and catch the local fish.
On arrival at Samata’s village, you visit the local people
before being transferred by the support staff in vehicles to
Kabinga village. Dr Livingstone also stayed in this village
over 100 yrs ago
KABINGA
VILLAGE
DAY
6
We
spend the whole day at Kabinga’s village visiting the local
school and the local market. You also have the opportunity
to meet the local chief and his elders and learn about the
local history. Travel back to the campsite for over night.
KOPA
MISSION
DAY
7
After
breakfast, we take a short boat trip, then set off on foot
across a dry flood plain, We should actually cover a total
of 23 km on foot to the shores of Munakashi river. This is
the exact route Dr Livingstone took. We cross the river and
the vehicles pick us up for transfers to Kopa mission.
KATUBALA
DAY
8
Vehicles transfers us to Katubala area where we will hire
local porters to accompany us as we set off on a 16 KM walk
on the wild side through the African bush
LUMBATWA RIVER
DAY
9
Leave
the bush and travel through the beautiful Zambian Country
side. Today we travel for 16 KM traveling leisurely in Dr
Livingstone’s footsteps whilst listening and watching nature
in its totality. Ending up at the campsite set on the
Lumbatwa river for the night.
SHOEBILL ISLAND CAMP
DAY
10
We drive to Shoebill Island Camp in the Bangweulu Swamps.
For the next 2 days we take a well deserved break from
walking and relax on Shoebill island at the Shoebill Bill
Island tented camp.
DAY 11
Today we will spend the entire day exploring the area and
our activities will range from walking, boating, birding and
tracking down the endangered shoebill stork a very rare bird
with only about 3000 of them remaining in the world, and the
majority of these birds are actually found in this area,
After the shoebill we set off to track down the Balck Lechwe,
a rare antelop and indigenous to this area. Over night at
the Shoebill island camp.
LULIMALA RIVER
DAY 12
Depart Shoebill Island Camp in the Bangweulu Swamps and
drive to Lulimala river for an 18 KM walk and camp in the
African bush.
CHITAMBO VILLAGE
DAY 13
After leaving the bush camp we will walk for 15 km to visit
the Livingstone memorial just outside chief chitambo’s area.
This spot commemorates where Dr Livingstone died. We then
visit chief Chitambo who is the grand nephew of Chief
Chitambo who met Dr Livingtsone over 128 yrs ago. The Chief
will share stories with us that have been passed on through
generations. We camp nearby
KASANKA NATIONAL PARK
DAY 14
Depart Chief Chitambo’s area for a short drive to Kasanka
National Park , This is one of Zambia smallest park and yet
very beautiful. Over night in the lodge.
DAY 15
The entire day is spent in and around the park, morning game
drive, canoeing the Luwombwa river in the afternoon, This is
the last day in the bush and so a grand meal befitting this
occasion with a celebration will be in order. Over night at
the lodge.
LUSAKA
DAY 16
Drive back to Lusaka and over night, A conducted tour of
Lusaka is arranged and those with the energy a visit to one
of the local night clubs can be arranged. Over night at
Lilayi Lodge.

DAY 17
Depart Zambia for Home
