2009 KUOMBOKA CEREMONY
Date to be announced
usually late March early April

  

DAY ONE

Depart Lusaka at 10.00 hours for Mayukuyuku Safari Lodge in the Kafue National Park. This is a 4 hours road transfer. Expected time of arrival at Mayukuyuku is 15.00 hours. Clients check in for the night and after formalities clients are provided with snacks. 16.00 hours. Clients will be taken on either a sunset cruise or a game viewing safari and this will last for about 3 hours, back to the lodge in time for dinner and over night

 

DAY TWO

Early morning breakfast and depart for Mongu at 06.00 hours

Arrive in Mongu at midday and clients are checked in at Crossroads Lodge for 2 nights stay on DBB basis. Afternoon at leisure, the driver will be available to take clients to points of interest in Mongu and nearby areas. Dinner and over night at Crossroads Lodge

 

DAY THREE

Early Breakfast after which clients are taken to the Harbour at Lealui for the Kuomboka and wait for the arrival of the Litunga. Full day at the Zambezi River for the Kuomboka with picnic lunch and cool box with refreshments. Dinner at Lyambai Hotel or crossroads and over night.

 

DAY FOUR

Early breakfast and departure for Liuwa Plains National Park for a full day tour, picnic lunch and return to Crossroads for dinner and over night

 

DAY FIVE

Early breakfast and departure for Lusaka with a stop over for lunch at Mayukuyuku Safari Camp before getting to Lusaka late afternoon. (We reserve the right to change accommodation)

 

COSTS

  • 3 – 4 PEOPLE @ US $850.00 PER PERSON

  • 5 – 8 PEOPLE @ US $790.00 PER PERSON

  • 9 + @ US $720.00 PER PERSON

SINGLE SUPPLEMENT AT 25% OF THE ABOVE QUOTED RATES

 

Please note that the above rate is based on shared accommodation, meals and accommodation as specified, return transport from Lusaka to Mongu and within Mongu, and  to Lealui on the day of the Kuomboka in air conditioned 4 x 4 vehicles, meals as specified, limited refreshments on the trip to and from Mongu. Game viewing activities at Kafue National Park and Liuwa National Park. All park entry fees and meals as specified on diner, bed and breakfast basis as well as all picnic lunches included in the rate.

 

EXTRAS

National Park entry fees, expenses of a personal nature and hire of boats in Mongu if needed in Mongu during the ceremony
