Nestled
amongst lush tropical vegetation opening onto its own exclusive
beach, Ndole Bay Lodge offers visitors a singular African
experience on the shores of a unique lake.
With
beachside en-suite chalets, non serviced chalets, through to a
shaded lake front campsite, the Tanganyika dream becomes
affordable to all budgets. A fully stocked bar allows visitors
to contemplate the day gone with a cold drink and sumptuous
meals are prepared for those not self catering.
A fleet of reliable boats opens the secrets of Tanganyika, while
shaded hammocks, sunset paddles and a growing library allows
days to slip by. Our hospitality will make you wish time really
would stop.
Ndole Bay Lodge is
built entirely from natural materials with thatched roofs and
breezy designs making comfort come naturally. All rooms are
discreetly situated within the riparian vegetation. A massive
central thatched area serves as a dining and bar area. There is
a fully stocked bar at Ndole with competitive prices. A range of
local beers as well as w ine,
spirits and our signature Ndole cocktail make good times at the
wooden bar unforgettable. Comfortable couches, dart board and
other games make festivities a must before retiring to the beach
for a moonlit nightcap. A large swimming pool near the bar area
allows cool dips between serious relaxation.
Another large thatched communal area is located beachside with
fantastic views over the lake and a multitude of hammocks for
casual reading or snoozing.
Ndole
Bay offers a choice of accommodation to suite various needs
and budgets. Being just outside the National Park, allows us to
provide affordable accommodation and camping while still being
accessible to the untouched wilderness.
Ten en-suite, thatched chalets spaced in and around evergreen
fig trees and opening directly onto our private beach offer cool
comfort for afternoon siestas and restful nights.
Ideally suited to twins or doubles, some of the larger rooms
comfortably sleep three.
Two
centrally located chalets share a main ablution and shower block
and allow those on a slightly tighter budget to still enjoy
accommodation in the main lodge. Each of these chalets can sleep
up to three people.
Piping hot water is provided to the whole lodge.
Further
down the beach spread out underneath ancient winter-thorn
Acacias lays the campsite. With running water, braii facilities
and an idyllic location, those who enjoy their own devices can
be quite comfortable on the shaded beach sites.
Delicious
freshly prepared meals are available from our kitchen with
emphasis on local produce and fresh fish from the lake.
Tanganyika fish is internationally regarded as being among the
finest eating anywhere. Any dietary requirements are easily
catered for; please advise us upon your reservation. Set meals
usually include a cooked breakfast, light lunch and sumptuous
three course dinner.
Packed meals are
provided for those on any extended activities. Self catering can
also be arranged at nominal cost for use of cutlery and kitchen.
